Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley to suspend UK Production



Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover announced that they will temporarily halt production operation in manufacturing plants in the UK due to the Spread of the Coronavirus. 

Jaguar Land Rover officials said, The company will suspend its production operation next week and it plans to continue production operation in the factory on April 20, 2020. In England, the company has an engine plant and three Car plants. Moreover, the company stated in an email, the production operation will remain to continue in vehicle manufacturing facilities located in Brazil and India.

On Wednesday, The Tata Motors officials said that it will stop their production operation till Friday at its plants in Slovakia and Nitra due to the outbreak of coronavirus across the globe.

Bentley officials also announced that the company is going to suspend its production operation in the manufacturing facilities in England and Crewe from Friday, resume its production after four weeks.

The Volkswagen group which is famous for manufacturing ultra-luxury vehicles produces about 11,000 vehicles per year. The company officials said that it suspend production operation in factories because of the protection of the health of its workforce and also due to the decreasing demand for the vehicle in the market.

After the difficult year of 2018 due to a decrease in sales of vehicles in the market, the automakers had returned to the profit last year but the coronavirus hit the auto industry severely said by CEO of Crewe, Adrian Hallmark. He also said that the Crewe production facility will reopen on April 20.

On March 17 in a statement, the Volkswagen Group said the brand achieved its goal of 3.1 percent operating return on sales and generated sales revenue of 2.1 billion euros ($2.3billion) last year. Bentley face loss of 288 million euro ($308 million) in 2018 and they swung to 65 million euro ($ 70 million) profit on operating return last year. Now All the auto manufacturing companies are going to face huge losses because of coronavirus pandemic, result, a decline in demand for vehicles in the market and suspension of the production operation.
